چکیده
The efficacy of phosphine has been established for numerous major stored product insects. However, data related to the evaluation effect on Tenebrio molitor L and Alphitobius diaperinus Panzer are limited. present study aims evaluate susceptibility these species by using following protocols: (a) all life stages were exposed 3 days different concentrations phosphine, (b) adults 3000 ppm until individuals immobilized, Phosphine Tolerance Test (PTT, Detia Degesch GmbH, Germany), (c) 90 min again PTT protocol. For series bioassays, delayed mortality was recorded 7 14 d post-exposure. According our results, 100 three sufficient kill stages, including eggs, both species. found be more tolerant than those T. molitor, as noticeable survival observed, even after exposure ppm. Our provides some initial short long exposures A. phosphine.

Characterization of the larval stages of Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) using head capsule width.
The mean width (n = 5) of the cephalic capsule instar of Alphitobius diaperinus was determined. The larvae were reared at 27 degrees C (+/- 0.1 degrees C). The result showed that A. diaperinus has eight larval instars. The head capsule of the 1st instar larvae measured x = 0.228 (SD = 0.0192) and the last instar larval measured x = 1.339 (SD = 0.0436). The developmental rate, determined by Dyar...
متن کاملDiversity of digestive proteinases in Tenebrio molitor (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) larvae.
The spectrum of Tenebrio molitor larval digestive proteinases was studied in the context of the spatial organization of protein digestion in the midgut. The pH of midgut contents increased from 5.2-5.6 to 7.8-8.2 from the anterior to the posterior. This pH gradient was reflected in the pH optima of the total proteolytic activity, 5.2 in the anterior and 9.0 in the posterior midgut. When measure...
متن کاملA nuptially transmitted ichthyosporean symbiont of Tenebrio molitor (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae).
The yellow mealworm, Tenebrio molitor, harbors a symbiont that has spores with a thick, laminated wall and infects the fat body and ventral nerve chord of adult and larval beetles. In adult males, there is heavy infection of the epithelial cells of the testes and between testes lobes with occasional penetration of the lobes. Spores are enveloped in the spermatophores when they are formed at the...
متن کاملTransmission of Salmonella to broilers by contaminated larval and adult lesser mealworms, Alphitobius diaperinus (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae).
The ability of the lesser mealworm, Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer), commonly known as the darkling beetle, to transmit marker Salmonella Typhimurium to day-of-hatch broiler chicks was evaluated, as well as the spread to nonchallenged pen mates. In trial 1, day-of-hatch chicks were orally gavaged with 4 larval or 4 adult beetles that had been exposed to marker Salmonella-inoculated feed for 72 ...
متن کاملNitrogen-to-Protein Conversion Factors for Three Edible Insects: Tenebrio molitor, Alphitobius diaperinus, and Hermetia illucens
Insects are considered a nutritionally valuable source of alternative proteins, and their efficient protein extraction is a prerequisite for large-scale use. The protein content is usually calculated from total nitrogen using the nitrogen-to-protein conversion factor (Kp) of 6.25. This factor overestimates the protein content, due to the presence of nonprotein nitrogen in insects. In this paper...
